<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform recording without causing any shift in the recording image forming position regardless whether a recording medium is loaded under a bare (naked) state or in a form of a medium pack housed in a housing case. <P>SOLUTION: A control section of a recorder controls a reading means to read out the medium information of a recording medium being recorded from an information recording section provided in a medium pack and recording information, e.g. the type of the recording medium at step 1, and acquires the medium information at step 2. When the recording medium is loaded under the naked state, the reading means can detect it and that information is included in the medium information. When a decision is made at step 3 that the recording medium is not a naked recording medium but first or second recording medium, a recording mode setting including setting for offsetting the recording position is performed at steps 4d and 5d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
