A method for the manufacture of fused brushwear products is disclosed wherei n a three-dimensional tufted construction is formed from a two-dimensional mat with integrally fused tufts extending from a portion thereof. The two-dimensional form is folded or otherwise formed into a three-dimensional brush. The resultant brushwear product can, therefore, be manufactured from a single raw material which permits the product to be readily recyclable.
