PURPOSE: An amplification apparatus reducing power consumption of an amplification part and a method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption, in detecting an output level in an amplification part where a plurality of amplifiers are connected in serial. CONSTITUTION: According to the amplification apparatus reducing power consumption in an amplification part(220) where a plurality of amplifiers are connected in serial, a coupler(240) couples an output level by coupling a part of an output signal of one amplifier except an amplifier located in the last stage constituting the amplification part. And an automatic power control integrated circuit(260) generates an automatic power control signal controlling a gain of the above amplification part by calculating the difference between the coupled output level and an output level fixed in advance.
