PURPOSE: A damaged data recovering method and computer readable media is provided to recover data via a table unit recovery process, not a file unit, though the data is damaged by an overwrite operation or an SQL instruction after a file is deleted in a DBMS. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. It is checked whether a data file is deleted on a hard disk(S110). If the data file is deleted, deleted partitions or volumes are selected for a file unit recovery process, and a disk scan operation is conducted(S115), and the data file is selected(S120). Then, it is checked whether an overwrite operation is conducted on the selected file, namely the file is damaged by the overwrite operation(S125). If the overwrite operation is not conducted on the file, the file is normally recovered because the file has its original file format(S130). But if the overwrite operation is conducted, it is determined that the file is logically damaged, and a database block size is checked and selected(S140). Then, data structure data is input(S145), a data file or disk, including a damaged table, is selected(S150). The format of the data file where the damaged data existed, is analyzed, a corresponding data block is found, and the data block is classified by the table unit(S155). The contents of each searched table is automatically connected to the data of the input table(S160). It is checked whether the automatic connection step is finished(S165). If the automatic connection can not be finished, an interface for offering a manual table edition function is provided and the tables are connected(S170). The database block is searched for each table and gets recovered(S175). A table is generated at a conventional or a new database, and the recovered data file is uploaded at the table by using an upload tool(S180).
