PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver capable of automatically displaying a broadcast program of other channel when the viewing channel televises a commercial message. SOLUTION: When a channel selected by a main channel selection means 3 transits to broadcasting a commercial message (CM), a CM broadcast detection means 11 detects the transition to the CM broadcast, transmits a signal denoting it to a channel selection switching means 12, the selection switching means 12 allows a sub channel selection means 4 to receive a broadcast program of channels other than the channel having been selected according to a desired setting while switching the channel for each prescribed time, a screen image composite means 10 composes the screen images as the channel of the CM broadcast selected by the main channel selection means 3 on the main screen and the channel selected by the sub channel selection means 4 on the sub screen and outputs the result to a display apparatus (not shown).
