METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CODING AND DECODING INTERESTED AREA HAVING SLIDE STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: A method and a device for coding and decoding an interested area having a slide structure are provided to improve the screen quality by coding with quantization coefficients of adjacent areas in slice headers without severe change between interested and background areas. CONSTITUTION: A device for coding and decoding an interested area having a slide structure includes an interested area coding modeling part(100), a slice header coding part(101), and an entropy coding part(105). The interested area coding modeling part sets an interested area and a background area in an image input by a screen unit, sets quantization coefficients for the respective areas for better screen quality in the interested area, and determines quantization coefficients for macro blocks corresponding to the areas not to expose the boundaries between the areas. The slide header coding part separates the areas in the slide structure respectively, and carries out the coding by including the quantization coefficients of the areas in the respective slice headers. The entropy coding part quantizes the input image by the determined quantization coefficients per the macro block after estimation coding and conversion coding.
