PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give high priority to phrases once in use as candidates for expectation even if the phrases may be converted by a kana-kanji conversion function and even if the user does not register the phrases. SOLUTION: Candidates for conversion which are converted by a kana-kanji conversion application are presented, along with the candidates for expectation, to the user as candidates for output which can be selected by the user as to input character information. When a candidate for kana-kanji conversion, converted by the kana-kanji conversion application, is selected by the user from among the candidates for output, a line of characters as the candidates for kana-kanji conversion, is registered, as candidates for expectation as to the input character information, into a search dictionary of candidates for expectation.
