PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper foil for a battery, which has proper elongation before a heat treatment upon production of an electrode and scarcely lowers the strength thereof even when the heat treatment is subjected. SOLUTION: A copper material obtained by adding Zr in an amount of 0.01-0.20% by weight (or mass) to a copper base is rolled, and a copper foil obtained by the rolling is subjected to a heat treatment.
