PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch processing system capable of supplying a patch for changing a restart initial set function without restarting the whole system in a multi-task system. SOLUTION: A file load processing part 237 loads a patch file on the application tank to which the patch is supplied from an external storage device 203, under the circumstance wherein a plurality of tasks are operated in parallel, and stores a patch supply preprocessing program, a patch supply after-processing program, a patch back preprocessing program and a patch back after-processing program added to the patch file, in corresponding areas 231-234 of a memory area 223 for work. The task as an object of patch supply is eliminated by the patch supply preprocessing program, then the patch is supplied, and the system is restarted by the patch supply after-processing program. The processing before and after the patch back is similarly performed, whereby the patch processing can be performed independently from the other tank. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
