The hinge (7) for a motor vehicle boot lid (A) has one half mounted on the bodywork and the other on the boot lid. The boot lid has external studs to engage openings on the second hinge half. The studs are retained by nuts on the lid exterior. The door mounting can have a cover panel (32).
