PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-definition color cathode-ray tube having excellent color purity by reducing reflection of a face part to restrain double image and multiple reflection. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube has an outside light-absorbing film 1c of a multilayer film structure having an antireflection/antistatic function on the outside surface 1a2of the face part of a panel 1. One lower-layer film 33 of a multilayer film constituting the absorbing film 1c is formed by dividing it into a first layer film 31 and a second layer film by a plurality of fine particles 34 and 35 having different refraction indices. The film 31 of the fine particles 34 having the higher refraction index is disposed on the outside surface 1a2side of the face part, so that visual reflectivity of the backside 1c2of the absorbing film 1c is reduced.
