<p>A clamp for clamping sheets of paper and like material has clamping jaws (2, 4) mounted for pivotal movement between a clamping condition and a relatively open, released condition. One of the jaws (2) extends outwardly to a position beyond a clamping end portion (4a) of the other jaw (4) to provide a guide surface along which material to be loaded into the clamp can slide in order to facilitate loading. A means for effecting movement of the jaws (2, 4) comprises of a latch device (13) made up of a latch lever (26), a member (12) of channel section and a mounting (20) for the latch lever (26) wherein an end face of the mounting (20) has a convex configuration.</p> |
