PURPOSE: A method for managing a network of a base station in a mobile communication system is provided to transmit a command of solely receiving a signal having a reassemble PN offset to a mobile communication terminal, if strength of a pilot signal is smaller than specific size, thereby controlling the number of sectors. CONSTITUTION: A base station creates an optional reassemble PN offset(101), and transmits a reassemble pilot signal to a mobile communication terminal(103). The terminal transmits a reassemble pilot signal strength response message to the base station(105). The base station transmits a traffic signal having an inherent PN offset with a traffic signal having the reassemble PN offset to the terminal(107). The terminal simultaneously receives the traffic signals(109). The base station increases strength of a reassemble pilot signal, and reduces strength of an inherent pilot signal, then transmits the signals to the base station(111), and transmits each pilot signal strength response message to the base station(113). The base station decides whether the strength of the inherent pilot signal is smaller than specific size(115). If so, the base station commands the terminal to solely receive signals only having the reassemble PN offset(117). The terminal stops receiving signals having the inherent PN offset, and receives the signals having the reassemble PN offset only(119).
