Programmable logic control of plastic moulding machines - has ROM based controller to allow operational sequence control by plug in units

A programmable logic controller is used to allow the cycle of operation of a plastic compression moulding or injection moulding machine to be readily changed. The controller (1) is based upon a micro processor (3) that runs either to a programme held in read/write memory (4) or in a read only memory (5) that is plugged in. Input and output conditioning units (7,8) allow transmissions to be made to drive stages (9-11) and transducers (12-13) on the process machine. A programming unit (14) with built in console (15), programming module (16) and read only memory (17) facility may be used for programme development.
