<p>A filter band, pref. constructed from a spring steel continuous chain, is held watertight and under tension by elasticated air inflated edging. Crude material is fed to the upper surface, to a level determined by the load characteristics at differing sections of the filter train, the filtered components are collected below the upper band and the residual unfiltered material is continuously scraped from the band by a spring-loaded skid acting on the band surface to detach the residuals for collection at a lower reservoir.</p> |
