A method for recording information on an optical recording medium, by which the influence of thermal interference on front and behind recording marks is reduced, and crosstalk and cross-erase are prevented. When a pulse-modulated laser beam is projected to form a recording mark, the recording power Pw2 of the first and last pulses is lower than the recording power Pw1 of the intermediate pulses, and the pulse width Tc1 of a cooling pulse is 1.0 T or larger, which is greater than that of the recording power. Therefore, the influence of thermal interference can be reduced by the improvement of the cooling effect during formation of a recording mark, thereby realizing high density and high data transfer rate.
|
