PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal processor capable of generating a satisfactory image signal by appropriately performing noise reduction processing in accordance with the degree of a noise production and also minimizing a cost increase by realizing such noise reduction with a small scale circuit configuration. SOLUTION: A control circuit 24 controls the number of times for performing noise reduction processing by using a 2-pixel average filter being a minimum unit of a lowpass filter and a 3-pixel median filter being a minimum unit of a median filter or the like as a noise reduction circuit 28 for reducing noise components of an image signal generated from an output signal of an image pickup element 16. The number of processing times is determined on the basis of various conditions (photographic sensitivity, exposure period, photographing mode) in photographing related to the degree of a noise occurrence.
