<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for mounting a liquid crystal display device in which the housing of a displaying part fixing a hinge is not damaged even if the displaying part is repeatedly opened and closed and falling strength can be improved, and to provide a portable information device using the mounting structure. <P>SOLUTION: Each side face of a liquid crystal display device 2 and a cover housing 1 are supported by hinge metal fittings 6 having bending parts.
