<p>The power-driven lawnmower blade has a body fixed at the centre to the vertical output shaft of the motor or engine, and a knife at each end whose cutting edge runs along its leading edge. The blade body is formed by two sheet-metal components placed one above the other and joined together by a damping body counteracting bending and vibration. The blade can be made from two metal sheets with a layer of visco-elastic material between, cut and stamped into shape. One of the sheets can have a protruding portion sharpened to form the cutting edge.</p> |
