<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain or prevent acceleration from being failed against the acceleration request of a driver upon the completion of traction control. <P>SOLUTION: Engine torque increase control for temporarily increasing the driving force of a driving wheel is performed (step S103) during traction control (step S101) and when a driving wheel slip ratio is below a prescribed value (step S102). A friction coefficient between the driving wheel and a road surface is estimated based on the driving wheel slip ratio during the engine torque increase control (steps S105 and S107).
