PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone processing apparatus capable of attaining high heat efficiency and minimum fuel cost, safe and prompt carbonization without any generating environmental contaminant or toxic substance, and acquirement of residual (coal) with effective utilization. SOLUTION: This bone processing method includes the following: the storage of bones of birds, beasts and fishes in a dry-distillation box 20 built in a combustion furnace 30 which is equipped with a combustion burner 15 and in which outside air invasion is blocked; the dry-distillation of the bones while maintaining the inside of the dry-distillation box 20 at a high-temperature atmosphere; and carbonization thereof. By introducing dry-distillation gas generated by the dry-distillation box 20 into the combustion furnace 30 and burning the gas, combustion gas is generated and used as a part of fuel.
