METHOD FOR RECOVERING FLUORINE-CONTAINING EMULSIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply recovering the fluorine-containing emulsifier from the polymerization wastewater left after the production of a fluoropolymer. SOLUTION: The method for recovering a fluorine-containing emulsifier comprises combining a layered double hydroxide sinter obtained by forming a layered double hydroxide having metal hydroxide layers comprising divalent metal ions and trivalent metal ions and an intermediate layer of carbonate ions in an aqueous solution at a pH at which the layered double hydroxide is formed and firing it with the polymerization wastewater left after the production of the fluorine-containing polymer and containing a fluorine-containing emulsifier and an SS component content of at most 1 mass% after adjusting the wastewater to a pH approximating to that at which the layered double oxide is formed, thereby including the fluorine-containing emulsifier among the layers of the layered double hydroxide formed as the result of the hydration of the layered double hydroxide sinter and separating the layered double hydroxide from the polymerization wastewater left after the production of the fluoropolymer.
