Method and device for cleaning abrasive plates of abrasive machine

Method and device for cleaning faces of upper and lower abrasive plates 20 and 30 using a water jetting nozzle 35 or nozzles. The nozzle 35 cleans the upper abrasive plate 20 and is then turned to clean the lower abrasive plate 30. If the width and density of grooves in the upper abrasive plate 20 differs from those in the lower abrasive plate 30 then the speed at which the nozzle 35 moves may differ when cleaning the two abrasive plates 20 and 30. Also a method and device for cleaning faces of upper and lower abrasive plates 20 and 30 using water jetting nozzles (35d and 35e, Fig. 8A) where the nozzle used to clean the lower abrasive plate is moved a prescribed time behind the nozzle used to clean the upper abrasive plate. Also a method device for cleaning faces of upper and lower abrasive plates 20 and 30 using a water jetting nozzle 35 surrounded by means 34 for preventing the escape of water, utilising means 18 for closing a gap between the preventing means 34 and the edge of the upper abrasive plate 20.
