PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a liquid storing device capable of assuring water in a liquid storing container at the time of occurrence of the earthquake and capable of performing an easy and positive taking-out of the assured water through mere reset inputting when a shut-off valve is driven to cause a discharging port to be closed. SOLUTION: The liquid storing device comprises a liquid storing device comprised of an input section for performing inputting operations such as operation, stopping and resetting or the like; a vibration-sensitive unit for producing an earthquake signal at the predetermined earthquake vibration; a control section 15 for producing a control signal controlling an entire device; and a driving section 16 for driving the shut-off value with a signal from the control section 15 and closing the taking-out port. The driving section 16 is constituted by a connecting cable 21 connected to the shut-off valve; an engaging section 22 engaged with an end part of a counter-shut-off valve of the connecting cable 21 when the connecting cable 21 is pulled up to open the shut-off valve; a cable disengaging means 23 for releasing the engaged state of the connecting cable 21 with the engaging section 22 in response to a driving command at the time of occurrence of the earthquake from the control section 15 and closing the shut-off valve; and a cable pulling-up means 24 for pulling up the connecting cable 21 to close the shut-off valve and engaged with the engaging section 22 in response to a reset command from the control section 15 having the reset input received from the inputting section.
