PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for optical connector end surface capable of efficiently performing a stable and precise inspection. SOLUTION: The end surface of an optical connector is imaged by a CCD camera 32, and the light intensity distribution of a section passing the center of the optical connector is acquired from the image data. Two bright parts n and n having a fixed light intensity are extracted from the light intensity distribution, and the space D between them is determined. The determined space D is compared with the outer diameter C of the optical fiber, and when the both are matched, a focusing state is judged and noticed. An operator can automatically perform a focusing only by adjusting the focus while confirming the notice. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
