PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent developer from caking at the end part a screw. SOLUTION: In a developing device which possesses a storing container to store the developer 11 provided with magnetic particles, a rotatable developer stirring member having a shaft consisting of a ferromagnetic substance, a bearing part to support the shaft 1 of the stirring member, an unrotatable magnet member 8 arranged so as to surround the shaft 1 by leaving an interstice with the shaft 1 at a position at the inside of the storing container from the bearing part and by which the leakage of the developer 11 is suppressed by forming the magnetic brush of the magnetic particles of a magnetic field formed between the shaft 1 of the stirring member and the magnet member 8, the edge of the surface of the magnet member 8 opposed to the shaft 1 of the stirring member is chamfered.
