PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the construction of a transmission which provides more shifts with change gear ratio as desirable as possible as a vehicular transmission by engaging two components of planetary gears directly or selectively through a clutch, and selectively braking part of the components of the planetary gears for minimizing the required number of clutches and brakes and making its arrangement as convenient as possible, thus making the whole construction as compact as possible. SOLUTION: Two sets of engagements of any of a sun gear, a ring gear, and a carrier of one planetary gear with any of a sun gear, a ring gear, and a carrier of the other planetary gear are provided to obtain the change gear ratios different depending on a difference in the combination.
