METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING VAPOR-GROWN CARBON FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process and an apparatus for producing vapor-grown carbon fibers that can easily produce vapor grown carbon fibers including carbon nano fibers and carbon nano tubes having a diameter of≤several tens nano meters. SOLUTION: The gas including vapor grown carbon fibers formed in the vapor phase inside the heated reactor tube is taken out of the reactor tube together with the guide gas surrounding the carbon fiber-including gas to collect the carbon fibers. In this case, these gases are guided out of the reactor tube forcibly with a driving force gas that is practically inert to these gas. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
