PARTICULATE FILTER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a particulate collection rate and decrease a pressure loss.

SOLUTION: In this particulate filter for collecting particulate discharged from the internal combustion engine, exhaust flow passages 6 and 7 for flowing an exhaust gas are partitioned by a partition wall 5 made of porous material. Openings 8 and 11 of ends of the exhaust flow passages are blocked by oxidation catalysts 9 respectively having through holes 10. The oxidation catalyst can oxidize and remove the particulate.
