PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in an oil-water separator where pressure air from a pressure air supply means, together with drain water supplied from a storage tank, is supplied from the bottom of an adsorption tank, all of the drain water is stored in the storage tank, only the pressure air is fed from the pressure air supply means, and there is no idea of using a property of a drain water generator that the generator can also supply the pressure air at the same time. SOLUTION: In a method for oil-water separation of drain water generated from compressed air, the drain water is cleaned by an oil separation tank which separates foreign particles from the drain water and of which the upper part is opened to the atmosphere and an emulsion-breaking and oil-adsorbing tank where the drain water is fed by a water head H and discharged spontaneously, emulsion is broken, and oil is adsorbed. The drain waters generated from compressed air in a plurality of instruments, excepting one of the drain waters, are collected in the oil separation tank. The excepted drain water under a reduced pressure, together with the compressed air, is joined to the drain water from the separation tank, at the vicinity of the inlet of the emulsion-breaking and oil-adsorbing tank.
