<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tool exchange device for a machine tool capable of efficiently exchanging the tool with neither using an arm nor raising/ lowering a spindle. <P>SOLUTION: This automatic tool exchange device for the machine tool includes a frame 10, a spindle 3 rotatably attached to the frame and capable of releasably holding the tool, an up and down carriage 20 installed in the frame so as to vertically move between a raising position and a lowering position, a magazine carriage 40 installed in the up and down carriage so as to horizontally move between an origin position separated from the spindle and a working position approaching to the spindle, a tool magazine provided with multiple tool holders supporting the tools in exchangeable states, a vertical magazine actuator 30 moving the up and down carriage vertically and attaching and detaching the tool relative to the spindle, and a horizontal magazine actuator 50 moving the magazine carriage horizontally and allowing the tool holder of the tool magazine to hold or release the tool of the spindle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
