PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus in which the amount of wastes stored such as garbage disposably treated therewith is adequately grasped and the wastes can be disposed when a predetermined amount is stored. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment apparatus separates, water-containing organic wastes such as garbage ground by a disintegrating means, into a solid waste and sewage, and treats the separated solid waste with a dry treatment means. This garbage treatment apparatus comprises a waste storage vessel for storing the waste treated with the dry treatment means, a support member for supportingly mounting the waste storage vessel insertably/releasably in the frame of the garbage treatment apparatus, a detection means for detecting the amount of the waste to be stored in the waste storage vessel, and a control means for driving and controlling the garbage treatment apparatus.
