PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment method capable of being performed at a low cost and capable of enhancing the dehydration of sludge. SOLUTION: The sludge treatment method includes a metal salt adding process for adding a metal salt to organic sludge in a metal salt adding tank 2, a sludge flocculation process for adding a polymeric flocculant to the sludge in a flocculation treatment tank 3 to subject the sludge to flocculation treatment, a sludge modifying process for adding a persulfate to the sludge in a sludge modifying tank 4 to modify the sludge and a sludge dehydration process for dehydrating sludge in a dehydrator 5.
