PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a laminated coating film which has an excellent chipping property resistance when a middle coat paint and a top coat paint are applied on a substrate by the wet-on-wet coating. SOLUTION: In this method for forming the coating film, the wet-on-wet coating is performed by using the middle coat paint comprising a urethane- modified polyester resin (a) which is obtained by reacting a hydroxy group containing polyester resin obtained by polycondensation between an acid component containing isophthalic acid of≥80 mol% and a polyhydric alcohol and an aliphatic diisocyanate compound, a melamine resin (b), a hexamethylene diisocyanate compound (c) blocked with a compound having active methylene group, a non-aqueous dispersion resin (d) having core-shell structure and a flat pigment (e).
