MEDIUM OF MONASCUS SP. , PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF AND THE USE OF PRODUCTS PRODUCED THEREBY

PURPOSE: A medium of Monascus sp. for feed additives, a production method thereof and the use of products produced thereby are provided, thereby cheaply producing high concentration of second metabolites of Monascus sp. having cholesterol lowering effects. CONSTITUTION: A medium of Monascus sp. for feed additives comprises (a) proflo which is an extract of cotton seed as a nitrogen source; (b) one material selected from the group consisting of sugar, rice powder, corn powder, potato powder, wheat flour and the mixture thereof; and (c) Na, Ca, Fe, Cu and Mn as trace elements. A method for producing the second metabolites of Monascus sp. comprises aerobically culturing Monascus sp. in the medium of Monascus sp. for feed additives for 6 to 8 days.
