<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which can obtain a lighter and higher-contrast display without causing any difference in color shading in a reflection display area and a transmission display area as a semi-transmission and reflection type liquid crystal display which can give a color display. <P>SOLUTION: A color filter layer 10 includes a black matrix 10a and a dot display region for displaying one of the primary colors and one dot display area includes colored regions 10A to 10C and an uncolored region 10D; and the colored regions 10A to 10C are formed nearly entirely over a transmission display region T and partially on a reflection display region R stradlling both a reflection display region R and the transmission display region T and the uncolored region 10D is formed at least between the colored regions 10A to 10D and the black matrix 10a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
