PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid sensor for measuring a turbine blade tip gap by using a radio frequency converter and an ultrasonic converter. SOLUTION: A measuring method for the turbine blade tip gap in a gas turbine includes (a) a stage which measures the distance A between an ultrasonic sensor 16 and the surface 14 of a stator shroud (b) a stage which measures the distance B between a radio frequency sensor 20 and a tip 13 of a rotary blade of a gas turbine and (c) a stage which subtracts the distance measured by the ultrasonic sensor 16 from the distance measured by the radio frequency sensor 20. Both the ultrasonic sensor 16 and the radio frequency sensor 20 are radially arranged at the equal distance from the center line of the gas turbine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
