FUSION-SPLICING CONNECTING MACHINE FOR OPTICAL FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusion-splicing connecting machine which can securely connect optical fibers to each other by smoothly putting connection end surfaces of the optical fibers close to each other. SOLUTION: The connecting machine comprises a couple of discharge electrodes 30 which are arranged opposite each other across a gap, a chuck 40 which clamps the root sides of the optical fibers 10 between the discharge electrodes so that the connection end surfaces face each other and slides the connection end surfaces in approaching directions, and an optical fiber clamp 50 which holds the tip sides of the optical fibers 100.
