PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of instantly supplying information for confirming updated information and information which is to be viewed for a very short period among information to be displayed on a light-emitting display screen for browsing without displaying them on the light- emitting display screen every time. SOLUTION: The image display device houses an electronic display medium obtained by stacking display layers in which images are recorded by irradiation whit light carrying the images and application of voltage between a pair of electrodes to display the images on the electronic display medium. The image display device is provided with: a connecting part for connecting the housed electronic display medium in such a state to be arranged at a position of receiving light from the light-emitting display screen of a light-emitting display device which emits light carrying the images; a frame provided with a window part for the observation of the images recorded in the housed electronic display medium from the outside; and a voltage applying means for applying voltage to the electronic display medium housed in the frame.
