PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for aiding the regeneration of a pollution-control means.

SOLUTION: This aiding system aids the regeneration of the pollution-control means (1) that is integrated in an exhaust line (2) of an engine (3) of a motor vehicle, in which the engine is provided with a supply means (6) common to cylinders thereof, which is suitable for injecting fuel, during regeneration, into each cylinder in a state of at least one principal injection and at least one post-injection during the expansion stroke of the cylinder. The supply means (6) is suitable for cutting at least the principal injection of at least one of the cylinders in order to increase the oxygen content of exhaust gases and to optimize the regeneration in a pollution-control means.
