PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive deflection friction type transmission having low noise. SOLUTION: The deflection friction type transmission comprises: a rigid annular member 2 having a cylindrical inner peripheral surface 3; a flexible member 4 having a flexible cylinder 5 abutting on the cylindrical inner peripheral surface 3; and a wave motion generator 9 that generates a pressing force by radially deflecting the flexible cylinder 5 to partially butt it on the cylindrical inner peripheral surface 3 of the annular member 2 and generates a relative rotation between the annular member 2 and the flexible member 4 by moving the abutting and pressing position circumferentially.
