LOW-PRESSURE DIRECT INJECTION ENGINE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply system for supplying fuel in a fine drop size to an automobile engine without requiring a high-pressure auxiliary fuel pump. SOLUTION: A low-pressure direct injection type engine system for a vehicle has an engine having a plurality of cylinders 12 each having a piston 14, and parts of the cylinders and the pistons constitute a plurality of combustion chambers 18. A fuel injector 20 is mounted in fluid communication with each combustion chamber. Each fuel injector has a nozzle 24 for low-perforation fine fuel spray with the drop size of 25μmSMD and 45μmDV90 at fuel pressure of about 2 MPa. The low-pressure fuel supply system supplies the fuel from a fuel tank in the vehicle to the fuel injectors, and an ignition device 22 is disposed in the combustion chambers and ignites the fuel in the combustion chambers.
