LUBRICATION-FREE LOW NOISE TOOTHED GEAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothed gear functioning semi-permanently with no lubrication and with less noise even at a high speed to solve a problem that a conventional plastic toothed gear has a defect to shorten lubrication, reduce the service life, and increase contact sound on the toothed gear at a driving part, causing the circumstantial problem. SOLUTION: This toothed gear is made from a thermosetting resin composition prepared by adding 5-70 wt.% of graphite in total to aromatic hydrocarbon resin having basic structure obtained by bonding either one or both of naphthalene and alkylnaphthalene by methylene bonding through one or more than two aromatic materials. The toothed gears of the same materials or the different materials are meshed with each other and they are driven with no lubrication. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
