PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water marking which is low-cost and has no quality deterioration, for DSD signals or the like. SOLUTION: A digital signal (DSD (direct stream digital)) signal in which a quantized bit made into a sample by a first sampling frequency is one bit, is converted into a digital signal (PCM signal) in which a quantized bit made into a sample by a second sampling frequency is a multibit, and signal water marking is applied to the converted signal. Then, the signal components of the signal water marking are extracted, added to the original DSD signals and finally DSD signals to which signal water marking is applied are obtained.
