Electrified fence standard where a portion of the standard conducts electricity

Prior art electric fence standards have the disadvantage that stock may head bunt or shoulder the electric fence lines over. The electric fence standard here incorporates a stabilising foot (1) as part of a lower member (2) and a loop bent in the upper rigid conducting member (3) to form the wire support means. The conducting portion of the standard effectively electrifies the standard. A nylon bush (4) is incorporated to assist the surface engaging means. A plastic insulating handle (5) is incorporated into the upper rigid conducting member to protect the user from electric shock.
