<p>A gel pak filled with carboxy methyl cellulose gel is adhered to an inner face between the gauze and the outer layer of an adhesive bandage. A thin thermal barrier of Mylar is thermally bonded to the outer layer of the gel pak. By placing the bandage in the freezer until needed, the gel pak will remain cold for a period of time after application to a wound to help stop bleeding, bruising and to act as an antiinflammatory.</p> |
