It is intended to provide a novel phospholipase A2 (PLA2) relating to psoriasis, a nucleic acid encoding the same, a method of characterizing, identifying and screening a PLA2 inhibitor or a drug, a novel method of diagnosing and examining psoriasis and so on. A polypeptide having the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:9; its conserved substituted variant, spontaneous allelic variant, etc.; a method of characterizing, identifying and screening a PLA2 inhibitor or a drug with the use of the polypeptide; a method of examining psoriasis characterized by calibrating the expression level of a gene comprising the above nucleic acid; and so on.
