The invention relates to a hot-air engine comprising a cylinder (2), a working piston (4), which together with the cylinder cover (3) delimits a cylindrical chamber (6) for receiving a working medium, a displacement piston (17), which subdivides the cylindrical chamber (6) into a first and a second working chamber (14 and 15), in addition to a heating device (31) for heating the working medium in the first working chamber (14) and a cooling device (44) for cooling the heated working medium. The working chambers (14 and 15) communicate with one another by means of a regenerator (57) located in the displacement piston (17). The heating device (31) comprises a heating surface (28) that is configured on the front face (22) of the working piston (4) and a heating system (29) that is allocated to the working piston (4). The cooling device (44) contains an injection unit (46) for introducing condensed working medium into the first working chamber (14). This design permits an improved heat supply to the working medium contained in the cylinder and direct cooling of said medium, whilst at the same time achieving a simpler, more compact construction of the hot-air engine. |
