The assembly comprises a gear selector pin (24) with two drive members (36, 40) rotating and sliding while turning about their parallel axes (R, T). It has a first coupling (66) connecting drive member (36) with the pin (24) while allowing the pin to move parallel to axis (R), and a second coupling (78) connecting a slider (64) with the pin (24) and allowing the pin to rotate about axis (R). It also has an immobiliser (98) that prevents rotation of the slider, carried by a component (22) that is kinematically independent of drive member (40), and a component (86) that converts the rotation of drive member (40) into a horizontal movement by slider (64).
