PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to prevent spatter of ice by allowing a spatter preventing cover to move down to get near an inlet of a storage container. CONSTITUTION: An ice outlet opening and closing unit(30) includes a spatter preventing cover(60) placed to cover an outlet of an ice outlet(20) so as to prevent spatter of discharged ice, and moving up and down; a lifting guiding unit guiding lifting of the spatter preventing cover; and a connecting unit connecting a discharge lever(50) and the spatter preventing cover so that the spatter preventing cover is moved up and down depending on operation of the discharge lever. The lifting guiding unit includes a guiding member(62) installed in an ice storage space(22) to be extended in vertical direction; and a guiding groove(61) placed on the spatter preventing cover to be joined to the guiding member and move up and down. The connecting unit includes a connecting wire(70) having both ends connected to the discharge lever and the spatter preventing cover, respectively; and at least one rotary roller(71) installed in the ice storage space to support the connecting wire and to guide movement of the connecting wire.
